The Momo Movement
Project Description…
This was an assignment I created for one of my design classes at Northeastern. We were asked to come up with a name,
logo and menu for a restaurant of our creation. The restaurant I invented is called The Momo Movement.
After I graduated high school, I took a gap year and traveled. One of the most incredible places I went was to Nepal. During my stay in Nepal I discovered Momo's. Momo's, (dumplings) were my favorite meal while I was there so I thought it was only right to make a restaurant that served them in all of my favorite ways.
When I think of momo's, I smile immediately. So, I wanted to think of a way that I could have that same effect on the passerby's of this restaurant. To do this, I decided to choose a more playful name and logo. Since a lot of people wont know what momo's are off of the top of their head, I wanted to make a friendly visual cue, and that is how the momo's on the menu came to be. In regards to the typeface. I decided to stray from usual serifs and san-serifs and try out a display typeface to not only attempt to give another playful touch to the brand, but also just as experiment using display type since I haven't typically worked with it in the past. Below is the final Menu Design.
