PEOPLE ALWAYS ASK HOW I GOT STARTED WITH THE ARTS AND WHY I WANT TO STAY WITH IT….
HERE IS MY LONG ANSWER.

I have always enjoyed the stories of my baby self: myself as a toddler breaking into spontaneous dance perfectly synchronized with the music; myself as a three year old asking if we could stop the car so I could draw the ‘muhsythia’ flowers or the cygnets at our favorite pond; my insistence, at age five, on designing and drawing my baby brother’s birth announcement. Interestingly, I do not come from an ‘artsy’ family. Breaking into dance, the urge to sketch and design are just in me, a part of who I have always been. In middle school, I decided to commit myself to developing any and all natural ability I might possess. I joined the art club. I did chorus and band, and became captain of drum line. And outside of school, I took dance at night. I had to forego a lunch period to take art in high school. Although pursuing all of these interests in high school made my life very busy and stressful, I wouldn't have done high school any other way. Now being a college student, I am able to create and learn about things I'm passionate about every single day.

It is exciting to open people’s eyes to something they might not have thought about. Delving into the arts with full commitment has allowed me to discover who I am. Whether drawing, painting, or perusing my newest interest, graphic design, I am tireless and passionate. Time stands still. This is a gift, one that I am fortunate to be able to share. I have been blessed to be inspired by so many wonderful teachers and mentors in my life. To think that my art, in some small way, is serving as an inspiration to others is just about the best feeling in the world.
